We are combining a trip to visit with Brian, Karin & Valerie as well as Carol's Sister Jean, who is in Washington for a math conference. I loaded most of the car last night; this morning the rear passenger tire was flat! Not sure how that happened in the driveway but after pumping it up it held air long enough to get it to Shipero's to fix it. Of course, there was nothing to fix. They cleaned the rim & remounted the tire, but couldn't find anything wrong. The car sat in Tyler Hall's loading dock for a couple of hours while I took rehearsal photographs of the Theatre Department's production of Into the Woods, and there are some individuals that can be a pain about parking in the loading dock, even after delivery hours, but the tire was low enough that I would have noticed it on the drive home. Anyhow, we got a late start - hit the road around 11:00.
Not much to say about the trip down to DC. We took Rt 81 most of the way & traffic was good. Of course it got busy as we hit the loop in DC, but we were only on that for a short time. We stayed at the Quality Inn in College Park, MD, and I think this will be the last time. Although the price is right, they have a good breakfast, reasonably close to Brian & Karin's, and the rooms are OK, their WiFi is useless, and, since it is very close to the University, noisy. Time to try something new.
Since we arrived later than usual, we didn't stop at Brian & Karin's; just called it a day.
