Other Rallies I've Attended

After spending most of the winter in Parker, AZ (My Journal), I left La Paz County Park and headed south to Dome Rock for the annual Fiberglass Gathering. While it doesn't officially start until next week, there are already at least 35 trailers here. I'll take photos throughout the gathering.

A couple of "Around the Fire" photos - while is was pretty dark, the Nikon Z8 had no problem making it look like daylight.

Tuesday, February 6, 2024:

Not my count, but as of Monday night there were 88 trailers at Dome Rock - 2 Bigfoots, 44 Casitas, 30 Escapes, 5 Olivers, 7 Scamps. While I've been told there is a Snoozy here, but I haven't found it on my walks. A Scamp 19 arrived last night.

Wednesday, February 7, 2024:

Lots of wind & rain late yesterday afternoon. Enough wind that it pulled out a stake on my Clam & folded it up an put some water in the wash behind the trailer. The second photo is how dry it was by morning. Dryer & sun today, but still lots of wind.

And an afternoon walk around:

Thursday, February 8, 2024:

Because of early morning rain, the swap meet was moved from 9:00 to 10:00. Lots of stuff traded, sold, or given away.

Lots of trailers on the move. I don't know whether they are leaving or just heading to town to dump. I know some folks are discouraged by the rain, wind and cool temperatures, but that's Quartzsite!

Friday, February 8, 2024:

Cool, but less wind. A group demonstration of fiberglass chip repair, talk about Harvest Host, followed by a discussion on an Alaskan trip.

Saturday, February 10, 2024:

Trailer Count as of Yesterday:

Bean 1
Bigfoot 2
Boler 1
Casita 49
Escape 34
Oliver 2
Scamp 8
Lil Snoozy 1
Total 98

I walked around the campground at 2:00. Lots have left, and most of those still here are hiding out from the cool temperatures & wind in their trailers, but a few brave souls were out:

Another walk around the campground around 5:00:

Hope to see everyone on the road & next year at Dome Rock!
