We got everything put away & closed all the windows when we went to bed, but all in all, at least up to now, it hasn't been much of a storm. Hurricane Irene looks to be going by well inland of the island. Although we did get a bit of wind, and the weather reports are calling for more, as of now there has only been a trace of rain, the skies are cloudy but lots of patches of blue showing through, and the wind seems to be dying down. There are a couple of broken branches in the trees behind David's house & lots of leaves down but so far so good!

It's now 2:30 & I made a trip to Miacomet Beach to check out the waves. There were a few others watching, as well as some with questionable intelligence that were boarding the waves. On the way home I took a photo of a flag that has seen better days.
