Well today I finally got off my butt & went out to take a few more photos. It rained last night, complete with thunder & lightning. The part of Millbrook Road that runs from David's house to Madaket Road is filled with huge potholes that are now small fresh water lakes! Even the paved section is flooded - I ended up going through someone's front yard to get down the road for this morning's run.

After Emma's friends left this morning, I drove out to the dump and Ell Point. Ell Point was one of our favorite locations when my father has his small sailboat. We would trailer to the public landing on the bay, and sail or motor across for a picnic on the beach in the harbor. It was also our favorite location for clamming. In the past you could drive your 4 wheel drive vehicle out to the shore, rake a basket of clams in an hour or so. Now you must have a permit to drive to the shore line if that is allowed - in many parts of the beach no vehicles are permitted, and Ell Point is usually closed to clamming due to pollution. I'm continuing to have "Good Old Days" moments!

After that it was back to the house to catch up on web page posting.
