Day 1 & Index

Monday, August 18th
Wednesday, August 20th

Today is another slow day. After a morning run at the farm I took Karin & Valerie into town for a bit of shopping. Since Carol stayed home we had to drive around the Grand Union parking lot twice without finding any spaces. Finally found a place at the top of Liberty Street. A long walk back to town, but at least a place to park. I went to the docks to take a couple of boat pictures, but didn't really find anything interesting. I did manage to pick up the screw for my salt mill. The screw fell out at some point & without it the sea salt comes out as hunks. The Nantucket Gourmet sells a newer version of the salt & pepper mills we picked up a few years ago. I like the older ones because it is one of the few that can be operated with one hand. They are made by Unicorn Peppermills, and although it looks like they still make the older version, I have not seen it for sale on the island.

After shopping it was back to the house to feed Valerie her lunch & spend a relaxing afternoon. Dinner will be simple - left over pizza, shark, and anything else in the fridge!
