Once again I'm heading to the southwest for the winter. I left early this year so I could attend the Boler 50th Gathering in Winnipeg, Canada, and the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta in New Mexico. Eventually, I ended up here on the Texas Gulf at the Matagorda Bay Nature Park & the Matagorda Madness Rally. I attended the rally in 2016, but missed it last year.
I'm hear a bit early for the rally, in fact, was the first fiberglass trailer to arrive. As other trailers pulled into the park I wandered around taking photos:

Thursday, November 29th:
Today is the first "official" day of the rally. Warm at 70°F, gray skies with light rain off & on. The "Protesters" moved from the parking lot to the campground. While there are many Escape 19's & 21's, we are outnumbered by the Casitas. Another Scamp 19 arrived, and there is still one Oliver. A good mix of trailers.

There was suppose to be an organized Sunset Kayak program this evening, but the rain and cloudy sky seemed to have canceled it.
Around 6:00 I headed to the Sip & Dip, a get together with snacks & drinks.
Friday, November 30th:
Another variable day - a nice, warm sunny day until late afternoon, when the clouds moved in and a bit of light rain fell. The river & weather were good enough that the kayak paddle on the river took place this morning.

Many of those attending the rally went to the Waterfront Restaurant for dinner.
Saturday, December 1st:
I started out with another wander around the campground. In the North section, I found the two Airstreams that the park is going to use for "new lodgings". Not sure why they ended up with a pair of very expensive trailers for rental, but they should be nice for those without RV's.

At 1:00 it was time for the group photo. As usual, about the same as herding cats. Anyhow we got it done. The Large versions are full sized jpgs, so be sure you have the bandwidth to download them.
