I'm a little late posting this - I guess I'm still winding down from my summer trip. (I wonder how long I can use that as an excuse?) Anyway, I did get out to take a couple of photos - I took a couple of photos of some of the buildings that had more enjoyable functions in the past. The first was a building that served many purposes; my favorite was it becoming a bandstand one night a week. The local high school band, usually mixed with a number of vacationing professional musicians would give a concert. Often there would be a mad rush to finish & pack instruments in order to catch the last ferry off the island. Kids would dance in the area in front of the bandstand -a great time had by all. Now it is a full time bar. The next photo is of the building that was the home of the Nantucket Artists Association. My mother was a member and often exhibited paintings. Now it is a clothing store. I did find the new location of the Artist's Association but is had to move to the outskirts of the city. I'll have to get out to take a photo of what happened to the Nantucket Racetrack. Again, in the past there were pony races at the race track. My father would make a batch of popcorn, pack it in old peanut butter jars, and a batch of Kool-Aid, and off we'd go. A great way to spend a couple of hours. Now the site is filled with houses. Well, enough of the "Good Old Days" nostalgia.

Emma, the daughter of a friend of David's is living in one of the spare bedrooms at the house & working as a waitress at one of the downtown restaurants. Three of her friends are here for a couple of days & made dinner for tonight. Pizza & Wings.
