Day 30, Monday, November 17, 2025 - Fort Stockton RV Park, Fort Stockton, TX 185.7 Miles, 2,418.4 Miles for the Trip
Not quite as cold as last night, but still cool enough for the electric heater to come on. I skipped my morning walk, and finished packing up the trailer & disconnecting the services after breakfast. I left Pecan Valley around 9:30. The entire drive was on I 10.
I arrived around 12:50, and since the office opens at 1:00 I called Stockton Ford & made an appointment Wednesday for an oil change. They don't stock the cover that is loose under the truck so I hope they can somehow reattach it.
I'm in site 52, a pull through with full hookups that is just long enough for the truck & trailer. It is on gravel with a picnic table for $45.00 per night with a Good Sam discount. Very open - the place is essentially a parking lot with hookups, ie no shade. As usual, a fairly constant wind out of the west. I noticed it on the drive only getting 11.0MPG doing 65MPH. On interstates I usually do between 12 & 13.

Along with the closed restaurant, another catastrophe - the best laundry room chairs I've ever seen are gone. One wore out and the other was broken by a rather large user. Here is a photo from the last visit:

I fired up the AC as soon as I connected the trailer to the power pedestal - outside temperature is 87°F and the trailer was at 82°F. I headed to the Lowe's Grocery store (I don't think it is related to the big box hardware store) and picked up supplies for tacos. By the time I got back to the trailer it was down to 76°F inside but still 87°F outside. With the wind strong enough to probably keep blowing out my 2 burner portable stove I decided to cook inside.
As mentioned, dinner was tacos.
Until Next Time -
