Another slow day at Cattail Cove State Park. For those of you that have followed some of my past travel blogs, this one may be a little slow & boring. I guess it can't be helped, since in the past I spent my time traveling from interesting place to interesting place with little time in between. This trip has a different agenda - staying warm. I still look for interesting things to do, but staying in one place for two weeks, with the main objective avoiding freezing weather is going to be different.

Anyhow today was cloudy, and with the sun hidden behind clouds, cool. I decided it would be better to go somewhere rather than sit and be cold, so I drove to Lake Havasu, and stopped in JC Pennys for a warm shirt. A bit annoying - they had lots of flannel shirts and winter coats on sale, both of which I was looking for, but they were all large sizes, and I mean large. I can sometimes fit into an Extra Large, but these were 4X, 5X & 6X!

On the way back to the campground I stopped at the London Bridge. For those that don't know the story, a couple of guys bought the London Bridge, packed it up and put it back together here on Lake Havasu. It is definitely a tourist attraction, with booths around it selling just about everything. Still, something different. When they built it, they added a man made section of the lake to go under it & created an island at its termination. I shot a few photos of the bridge, the area, and a young lady feeding the pigeons. I also took a nighttime photo of the Smoketree next to the campsite up from mine. There is a streetlight in the middle of the branches that produces a beautiful effect at night.

The sun peaked out when I got back to the campground so I sat out & read for a bit then talked with a fellow camper from Idaho. While we were talking Mr & Mrs Mallard came by; this time it was Mr that walked right up to us looking for a handout. No photo...

Dinner was the last marinated chicken thigh from the freezer, along with rice. I hope I can find some more of the thighs - they are excellent on the grill!

Until tomorrow -
